Once you've decided you'd like a mural, you'll need to consider the space in which you'd like it painted. Will it be a wall? Ceiling? Stairwell? Door? Be sure to consider furniture and fixture placement when deciding. You certainly won't want to cover your mural with furniture, wall decorations or electrical equipment. Another thing to consider is the condition of the area. I am an artist and do not do repair or patchwork. The area should be cleaned and primed to go prior to my beginning work.
Now you need to decide what you'd like painted. Is it for a child's room? Living area? Kitchen? Office? If you can't decide what to have painted, I can work with you and offer ideas for what might best fit your interest and lifestyle, as well as, the room itself. Together we'll make your theme room a dream room! Keep in mind that, due to copyright laws, I will not paint licensed characters or logos such as Winnie the Pooh or professional sports team logos. If you'd like a room with a licensed theme, perhaps you'll consider a mural related to your theme. For instance, an African desert background for a Lion King theme or a football stadium background for your favorite NFL team theme.
Once we've discussed the subject and size of the "canvas", we'll decide on the level of detail, materials needed and any other factors that might influence the time it will take to complete the mural. I will base my estimate on these factors. I prefer to see the area prior to giving an estimate but can, on occassion, proceed without that. Initial appointments are free within a limited mileage. If you agree to the terms, a signed contract and 50% deposit is required before the job will begin.
Are you ready? Let's get started!
